After receiving his master's degree, Mr. Kamemoto, now a researcher at a venture company, made the choice to join a deep-tech venture company at the same time he entered graduate school for his doctoral degree. At the time, venture companies were not an option at all, and Mr. Kamemoto was considering two options for his career: staying in academia or working for a major company. He had two career choices: stay in academia or work for a major company, because he wanted to challenge himself in a variety of jobs and be involved in major projects if he were to work for a company. Why did Mr. Kamemoto choose to work for a venture company instead of a major corporation? Mr. Kamemoto says, "It's the best environment for me," and he will talk about the realities of working at a venture company.
<Senior Researcher: Mr. Yusei Kemoto, Gardelia Corporation
His research at university focused on the use of E. coli to elucidate the mechanisms by which proteins produced within cells are embedded in the cell membrane and secreted out of the cell. In 2019, when he was a graduate student at Iwate University, he participated in the predecessor event of "Ad Venture Forum" and joined the company in April 2020 at the same time he entered the doctoral program. He is currently working on the research and development of the world's first "precious metal adsorbent" using algae.
