Add Venture Forum in Tokyo was held on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

(Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Yukihiro Maru) held the "Ad Venture Forum in Tokyo" at the Center of Garage (Sumida-ku, Tokyo) on Saturday, April 19, 2025. The forum was attended by 12 venture companies that are taking on new business challenges to solve social issues and 44 participants, including doctoral and master's students, who proposed and discussed with each other the possibilities of social implementation of their research and the next step forward.
The day included booth sessions where students could interact with venture companies, as well as seminars and other activities designed to encourage students to take the next step.
Haruna Kusunoki, Director of the Research Center for Human Resource Development at LIVERNESS Corporation, gave the opening remarks as the organizer, explaining her thoughts on the term "Ad-Venture" and what she hoped the event would set in motion.

Next, we invited Mr. Nishigaya of Agro Design Studio, Inc. and Mr. Suzuki of Yamada Shokai Holding as panelists for the panel session, "Ad-Venture Way of Life to Solve Global Issues. The panelists shared about their different approaches to startup business and new business of medium-sized companies, how they started their efforts, and how their personal way of life has changed as a result of their efforts.

In addition, a short seminar, "The 'QPMI Cycle' to Make Your 1min Self-Introduction Powerful," was held to promote closer communication between participants and venture companies during the booth session. In this session, participants were asked to verbalize their own Question and Passion (QP) and then introduce themselves to the person next to them whom they are meeting for the first time today, so that they could experience the power of self-introduction to create empathy among the listeners.

This was followed by a QP presentation from each participating company, in which they gave a passionate presentation of their vision and what they wanted to discuss with the participating students.

During the booth session, the main program, the participants and researchers/managers from each company engaged in such intense communication that the 30-minute booth session was not enough time to discuss what they could do to combine their passions and knowledge, and what kind of friends they could make.

which supports companies and participants in taking the next step in their activities.Ad Venture ScholarshipThe "Short Pitch Session" was held again this year. The 20 participants who applied on the spot for collaboration ideas that were generated during the booth session made short pitches, and declared that they would like to work with the participating companies on this kind of project and would definitely do it. We received more than 30 applications, including those who were not able to present their ideas. We will now work with the companies to create a plan to realize the ideas they declared.
Ad Venture Forum will continue to disseminate information on how to make the most of research, new ways of working, and new ways of living that are not bound by stereotypes.
Participant's Voice
- (I honestly didn't know what (venture companies) were doing, but I learned that each of them had their own objectives and problems that they wanted to solve.
- I thought that many of them would have a more bullish attitude, but I was glad to see that they were open to my research and willing to consider it from many perspectives.
- I was inspired by the passion of my generation!
- I now understand clearly the purpose of venture capital. It became clear to me what kind of place to turn to.
- (I felt that (venture companies) have a greater desire to innovate than large companies.
- Even though the company was young, it had a number of very attractive technological seeds
- I was reminded of the importance of not just thinking about it, but of going into the field on one's own feet and talking with people as one moves. I was encouraged by the attitude that it is only by taking action that the next question will come into view.
- Ideas were generated from my own activities outside of my research. I was impressed by the fact that the event was centered on the future that I want to do in the future, whereas at a conference, the focus is on the past that I have done so far.
