Awarded a contract by the City of Kyoto to plan and manage the Reiwa 8 Kyoto Deep Tech Commercialization Support Project

Lifeness Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo; President and CCO: Kiyoshi Inoue) has been commissioned by the City of Kyoto to plan and manage the Reiwa 8 Kyoto Deep Tech Commercialization Support Project.

This project aims to foster the creation of deep-tech startups and strengthen the startup ecosystem by collaborating with universities and other institutions in Kyoto City to support the commercialization of promising research ideas, identify and develop talent capable of leading these ventures, and facilitate connections between researchers and entrepreneurs.

This marks the second consecutive year that Ribanes has been commissioned for this project. Last year, the project involved universities with campuses in Kyoto City,Six researchersWe selected the participants and, together with aspiring entrepreneurs from across the country, carried out activities aimed at commercializing their businesses through a five-session business development support program and a final presentation session.

This fiscal year, we will continue to collaborate with the Kyoto Advanced Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTEM) and the City of Kyoto. Based on feedback from last year, we will refine our methods for identifying potential entrepreneurs and the content of our mentoring support, and implement the “Deep Tech Entrepreneur Development Program,” in which participants and mentors work together to develop business plans. In addition, we will continue to provide mentoring support to researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs who participated last year and possess promising research ideas.

Through these activities, Ribane will develop a new venture-building methodology that combines the expertise of researchers with that of business leaders to create new businesses. In doing so, we will accelerate the creation of deep-tech startups originating in Kyoto and contribute to the formation of a sustainable startup ecosystem.
