Lifeness Co., Ltd. is,Kyoto Deep Tech Commercialization Support ProjectPrior to the application process, we will hold a “Seminar for Aspiring Entrepreneurs” to help participants learn the mindset and communication skills necessary for forming teams with researchers.

This seminar will feature guest speakers who are seasoned entrepreneurs who have teamed up with researchers from universities in Kyoto City to launch startups in the deep tech sector. Participants will gain insight into the perspectives of both researchers and business leaders, and—using concrete examples—learn the key viewpoints needed to bridge the gap between research outcomes and real-world implementation, as well as strategies for building effective teams.

In addition to the lectures, we will hold a workshop to help participants articulate their own interests and concerns. This will provide an opportunity for participants to clarify what social issues they wish to address and what kinds of researchers and technologies they would like to collaborate with, thereby helping them prepare to apply to the Kyoto Deep Tech Commercialization Support Project.

This seminar is intended for working professionals, students, corporate new business development managers, researchers at academic institutions, freelancers, and others interested in entrepreneurship or creating new businesses in the deep tech field. We look forward to welcoming anyone interested in building businesses that bring research findings to society.Prospective Entrepreneurs Seminar Flyer

Key Points of This Seminar

This seminar aims not only to teach the methodology of starting a business, but also to cultivate the skills essential for launching a business alongside researchers: the ability to understand a researcher’s vision, the ability to internalize social issues as personal concerns, and the ability to translate the potential of technology into business hypotheses.

In the deep tech field, even outstanding research results will not lead to implementation without a business plan and a team capable of bringing them to society. This project provides an opportunity for researchers and aspiring entrepreneurs to meet, leverage each other’s strengths, and take on the challenge of creating deep tech startups based in Kyoto.
