The first lecture was given by Fukuda, Director of the Regional Development Division at Liverness. Fukuda, who specializes in livestock farming, has experience in starting up and selling a brand of pigs called Fukko Pork from scratch with no funds, human connections, or pig farms. He delivered a message with his episodes, "Think of the small steps you can take first" and "Build on those steps to create thickness like a baumkuchen," which are important when launching a business based on research and development.

The next speaker was Mr. Takakura of INOCA Corporation, which has "environmental transfer technology" that reproduces the natural environment of a body of water in an aquarium. Mr. Takakura has experience in building a wide range of businesses, from educational activities to toxicity testing in corporate R&D, in order to turn research results into business. However, although he initially started his own business based on his love of aquariums, there was a period of trial and error as to how to expand the business. He explained how he gradually created products through a variety of prototyping activities, such as sending out information via social networking services and holding events. Finally, he talked about his passion for tackling global biodiversity issues.
